【摘要】:Theheatofhydrationofacalciumaluminatebasedcastableisliberatedoverashortperiodoftime(ascomparedtoPortlandcement).Thismakesiteasytomeasuretheheatprofileusingoff-the-shelfthermocoupleequipment.Theheatprofilecanbeusedtomakeinferencesaboutthesettingandstrengthgainbehaviorofacastableandsometimestheworkingtimeofacastable.Factorsthatshouldbecontrolledwhencomparingtwocastablesinclude:size,shapeandmassofcastobject,starttemperatureofthemix,temperatureofenvironment,andthethermalconductivityoftheenvironment.Ifthesefactorsareheldconstant,thenthetwocastablesheatprofilescanbecompared.Theamountofheatrisecreatedbythecastableshallbeaminimumof5x00B0;F.Ifthisisnotachieved,theneitheralargersampleorbetterinsulation(orboth)shouldbeusedtoincreasethemeasurableheatrelease.Varyingtheamountofcementinthecastable,theamountofwater,thetypeandquantityofadmixtures,andsoforth,willchangetheshape,maximumtemperatureandtimetomaximumtemperatureofthecurve.FollowingisanexampleofacurvegeneratedforanLCC(seeFig.1)thatdoesexhibittwopeaks,thefirstonemarkingtheendofworkingtime.Inthiscurveonecouldalsoinferthatthestarttemperatureofthemixwas24x00B0;Candalsothatthehydraulicstrengthgainreactionwassignificantlystarted,butnotcompletedby6h.FIG.1ExampleofLCCExoProfile1.1Thisguideappliestoallcastableswithareactivebindersystemthatproducesameasurableheatprofileduringthesettingandhardeningprocess.Themajorityofthesesystemswillhavecalciumaluminatecementasonecomponentofthebindersystem.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
